Originally a gift from Sarah Joslyn to the people of Omaha in memory of her husband, George, the Joslyn Art Museum has welcomed millions of visitors since its opening on November 29, 1931. Its collection of over 12,000 objects represents 5,000 years of human creativity and the world’s diverse cultures.
Following a two-year construction closure, The Joslyn reopened in 2024 with The Hawks Pavilion–a wing designed by Snøhetta, in partnership with Omaha-based Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture—and a new brand identity conceived by Pentagram. The new website for The Joslyn was created in collaboration with Eddie Opara and his team at Pentagram.
